SUMMARY
The Sr. Analyst, FP&A is responsible for planning, forecasting, analysis, and consolidation of the financial results on a period and quarterly basis. Additionally, the Sr. Analyst, FP&A is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying Business Analytics Dashboards using Microsoft BI technologies including SQL Server, Power BI, and excel. The Sr. Analyst will be on a team responsible for financial reporting and the development of a shared reporting & analytics infrastructure as well as directly providing reporting, analysis, and insight to the executive teams.
The successful candidate will be able to dialogue with business leaders about the top of mind questions the company has, go off and gather/develop the required datasets, apply a variety of techniques to analyze/test the business hypothesis, and then summarize back the findings at an executive level (with clear data/method driven substantiation). This position has the potential to significantly influence the direction of the company and the financial performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create and maintain PowerBI dashboards to bring best in class intelligence and visualizations accessible via the network and mobile devices which are aligned to strategic goals and operational initiatives
Implement sales predictive modeling into FP&A process
Scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis taking into consideration macro-economic trends.
Participates in monthly financial reporting and forecast processes and the consolidation of company-wide forecasts and plans
Work with peers and business partners to develop financial plans and forecasts
Helps drive business value & outcomes by providing financial and analytical support to facilitate decision-marking around strategic business initiatives
Develop and prepare presentation materials for the Company’s Management Team
Provide analytical commentary and project support that will deliver key insights for making critical business decisions
Work closely with accounting, finance, and others as necessary during period end close, improve reporting capabilities, and provide variance analysis support to plan, forecast and last year
Demonstrate a working knowledge of financials modeling (profit and loss, balance sheet, discounted cash flow, and other return on investment analysis)
Knowledge of Finance and Accounting principles
Contribution to the evolution of the underlying financial technology to support planning, consolidations, and analysis (systems capabilities, master data, automation, etc.)
Develop and Automate the delivery of standardized reporting to be used in Executive level presentations or distributed via email/mobile to end users
Develop a standardized set of PowerBI dashboards accessible via the network and mobile devices
Partner with the leadership team to stay abreast of current business concerns, potential opportunities, and information needs
Employ a variety of analytical techniques to discover, identify, and conclude analysis both reactively to leadership requests and proactively based on our own curiosity/desire to move the business
Access and Integrate information/data from a variety of sources and bring it together into a structured environment for analytics and reporting
Develop, maintain, and tune varying complexity databases to ensure availability and integrity of data
Contribute to the broader financial/Enterprise tools roadmap in partnership with Finance/IT leadership
Define and document core business metrics, definitions, and logic collaborating with the business teams
Deliver analysis and findings to leadership and business teams…often through formal presentation
Maintain knowledge and stays current of developments in the fields of technology, business intelligence, data warehousing, data science, and emerging technologies (machine learning, AI, etc.)

Technical Qualifications:
- Ability to model financials with a solid understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to leverage technology to get at more information, more deeply, and more efficiently
- Ability to translate desired outcomes into your underlying work product
- Ability to extract and integrate data leveraging technologies such as (SQL, ODBC, ETL Tools, Oracle, DB2, Access).
- Familiarity with reporting / analytical apps such as (Oracle BI, Power BI, Tableau, SAS, Cognos, Bus Objects)
- Ability to automate reporting/analysis as well as operational process (VBA, JavaScript, .NET, Perl, Python)
Ability to define problems, collect data, perform analysis, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of senior management, department heads, and the Finance/IT/Business teams
Attention to quality, reconciliation, and accuracy are critical as the audience is often executive level staff and the decisions being made are significant in scope/impact
Creativity and vision to recommend ways to evolve our infrastructure, process, and analytic capabilities
Familiarity with statistical analysis methods, AI type concepts, visualization techniques, etc. a plus
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related required (Advanced Degrees such as an MBA or cross specialization with a technical specialty (Comp Science, Mathematics, etc. is a plus); and
3-6 years of experience in a Finance field
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Will Develop over time. Initially collaborating/mentoring with other Analysts within the broader organization.
