About the Opportunity
Under the supervision of the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacist fulfills several clinical and an administrative roles, both internally to the Pharmacy Department and externally to the NS Health Infectious Diseases Service and the NS Health Antimicrobial Subcommittee. The Pharmacist will provide direct patient care functioning as a medication expert within the Infectious Diseases inpatient consult service and outpatient clinics; act as an educator on the management of infectious diseases within NS Health; and offer administrative support for the NS Health antimicrobial subcommittee. The Pharmacist will work closely with the Infectious Diseases Clinical Coordinator and will participate in pertinent NS Health groups to support the evolving priorities of infectious diseases care in Nova Scotia and to promote best practice.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate from a recognized university program in Pharmacy
- Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred
- Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
- Minimum two years experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent Full-time Position / 100% FTE / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives
$42.19 – $51.43 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
