About Nord Anglia International School Al Khor
Nord Anglia International School Al Khor (NAISAK) is a 3-18 through school with 1000 pupils currently on roll. Primary is 4-form entry with approximately 700 students aged 3-11. Our school resides in the town of Al Khor, 35 minutes north of Doha (the capital of Qatar). We educate both local and expat students through a bespoke Primary curriculum which draws on the English National Curriculum, The Qatar Ministry of Education Curriculum and the IPC. Currently, the school is working to develop particular strengths in the areas of English language, EYFS and STEAM. We also have strong through-school links. The Primary school buildings have recently undergone extensive refurbishment following the opening of our brand-new Secondary building in August. Our students also now benefit from a new 25m pool.

About the role
Join our fast-paced international environment, and you will have the opportunity to work across the stages of the school. This role targets an excellent classroom practitioner, willing to teach the subject at Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8, 9) and possibly in Primary School in Years 5 and 6, as well as teach a cohort at IGCSE level.
Being a one-person department, you will challenge your students to set ambitious targets for themselves, and seek out and implement innovative teaching practices to enhance the student experience and outcomes.
The successful candidate will be versatile and self-driven, and demonstrate an ability to explore opportunities for growth to meet the needs of the school, such as developing the subject area into AS Level and/or Computer Science, setting up a VLE or a Digital Literacy Plan.
Being able to offer an additional subject in Upper Primary School and/or Lower Secondary School would be an advantage.
Able to create a classroom culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved, you will have a university degree in your specialist subject, a teaching qualification plus considerable teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum. Receptive to feedback and ready to embrace change, you will be keen to share best practice with colleagues and peers.
A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement and personal investment within the classroom. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Qatar including possession of a Bachelor’s degree and a teaching qualification from a face-to-face (non-online) course.
