Job description: The Department of Cognitive Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has a vacancy for an Assistant Professor of Philosophy. The UAEU is located in the city Al Ain (Emirate of Abu Dhabi), on the border with Oman and about 1.5 hours’ drive from both Dubai and Abu Dhabi cities.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in philosophy.
Preferred Qualification
AOS and AOC are open, but the successful candidate would be expected to coordinate and teach the Minor in Citizenship (social & political philosophy) and to teach General Education courses in applied ethics and/or critical thinking. The language of instruction is English, in which native or near-native competence is required.

We are seeking an energetic researcher, well-published in highly-ranked international journals, and with well-established international research networks. The successful candidate is expected to have a well-developed research plan, with the potential to attract competitive grant funding.
